Energy Efficiency Standards Upgraded: Low-E Glass and Thermal Break Aluminum Alloy Become Market Mainstream

Release time:2021-11-12

To support China’s "dual-carbon" goals, the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development recently issued updated Building Energy Efficiency Design Standards, requiring external windows in new residences to have a heat transfer coefficient ≤1.5 W/(㎡·K). This has driven a surge in sales of Low-E glass and thermal break aluminum alloy windows. These products reduce energy consumption by over 30% through multi-layer vacuum coating and insulated structural design. Manufacturers have also introduced "PV-integrated windows," embedding flexible solar films into glass layers to power household lighting.
